If tomato girl summer had an official afterparty, Ally Sloway would be the one hosting it.
The Charleston-based social media director of Garden & Gun by day, Sipland by night, knows a thing or two about creating scroll-stopping moments, and this time, the inspo was one very chic tomato martini.
Known among downtown Charlestonians for her house parties, sheโs no stranger to turning a casual concept into a full-blown fรชte. And as growing season reaches peak perfection in August and September, what better time to toast the tomato.
With creative BFFs and fellow G&G colleagues Anne Peyton Sugg and Lindsey Fuller on board, the group went all in: tomato lanterns, Italian coastal table settings, a backyard-turned-bistro for 20 guests and plenty of tomatinis on deck.
โAnne Peyton sent me a reel of a tomato martini before they were really having their moment,โ Ally says. โWeโre huge martini fans, so of course we had to make them. Then the idea snowballed when we looped in Lindsey. Why not turn the martini into an entire dinner party?โ
A monsoon nearly derailed the plans, but when the sun came out hours before dinner, the trio pulled it off. Collaboration (and caviar bumps) can carry any party across the finish line.
