Hideaway Round Top, a new, elevated retreat just two miles south of Round Top’s historic town square, is planting a design-forward flag in Central Texas.

What to Know:

Set across 21 acres of rolling hills and live oaks, Hideaway is firmly rooted in Texas nostalgia with a distinctly modern take. A collaboration between Studio Seiders and Sam Burch Architect incorporates the rich history of Central Texas with thoughtful details like warm lime plaster walls, Lone Star quilts and works by local artists featuring regional flora and fauna.

The custom-built 3,321-square-foot farmhouse anchors the property, with three bedrooms, complemented by two stand-alone 692-square-foot cottages that together sleep up to 19.

Local stone anchors the kitchen, and subtle references to traditional German architecture show up in the home’s clean, modern silhouettes. The design and architecture was inspired by Texas pioneer culture and farm life reimagined in a contemporary way.

Outside, the property leans into the landscape. Walking trails weave through the grounds, leading to a Seep Pool, inspired by the spring-fed swimming holes that dot Central Texas.

With the spring antiques show just around the corner, you’re close enough to chase treasures at sunrise and still retreat somewhere calm for sunset.
