Jamie Meares is Raleigh’s ultimate mix master.

As the creative director and founder of dopamine decor darling Furbish Studio, called “the best home decor shop on the internet” and “a mecca for trend-setters,” Meares has made a career out of turning “too much” into just right, layering bold patterns, unexpected color combos and cheeky details into pieces that feel as at home in Brooklyn as they do in the South.

Meares’ eclectic eye came into focus back in 2005, when she launched her popular blog, I Suwannee as a creative outlet. Four years later, Furbish Studio was born, evolving from a cult-favorite boutique into an e-commerce darling with collabs from artists like Lulie Wallace and William McLure.

With a mission statement that, 'a little too much is just enough,' Furbish Studio itself is a crash course in Jamie’s aesthetic: playful, worldly and a little bit irreverent. From block-printed pillows to hand-painted trays, every piece is designed to make you ask (and answer), “Where’d you get that?”

So who better to share where to eat, stay and slay in Raleigh, NC?
