We’re deep in our ā€œlittle treatā€ era and the vending machine has become the internet’s latest obsession.

Forget the sad office snack machines of the 1900s. Today’s vending stars are serving - in the tastiest ways possible. Oysters? There’s a machine for that. Baguette? That’ll be €1.10. Champagne? Just need your Amex. Instant gratification can be fancy, too.

We can look to the marketing genius of Poppi who, ahead of its Super Bowl ad, sent custom vending machines to 32 influencers, each fully stocked and Instagram-ready. Naturally, TikTok popped off.

Across the Atlantic, vending machines are a roadside staple dropping tasty little treats throughout Europe. Seafood stans in Ars-en-RƩ, France can get their fix at an oyster vending machine that sells up to five dozen at a time, alongside patƩ and sea asparagus for a DIY midnight feast.

France’s ā€œdistributeur de baguettesā€ solves the too-small-for-a-boulangerie problem by offering warm, fresh loaves for €1.10 on the side of the road, saving dinner parties everywhere. In Amsterdam and Switzerland, refrigerated machines dispense Gouda and Edam wedges at 2 a.m., because dairy cravings don’t keep business hours.

Cavaniola’s in Sag Harbor has turned a 24/7 cheese vending machine into the Hamptons’ most exclusive late-night drop. In Boston, Bubble Bath Food Hall’s champagne machine spits out MoĆ«t minis, while The Piccolo in Paso Robles, California, offers both Brut and RosĆ©. Why not pair your vending moment with a vineyard backdrop?

Japan takes dessert to the next level with Osaka’s ā€œcake in a canā€ machine, layering chiffon cake, whipped cream, fruit purĆ©e and toppings in see-through tins that are pure TikTok bait.

And in Athens, Greece, a startup has brought premium olive oil to vending machines, selling metal tins of extra virgin ā€œOelia Terraā€ like it’s the hottest streetwear drop. Achaean Land spent seven years perfecting its concept before debuting in January, with machines in Athens, Edessa, Ptolemaida and Amyntaio.

The throughline? Convenience meets novelty, and social media eats it up. These machines aren’t just serving snacks, they’re serving content.

Whether you’re craving oysters on ice or warm baguettes on cue, here’s how to turn your house into the ultimate ā€œlittle treatā€ destination.
