Welcome to Chow Now, giving you a sneak peek and insider tips for new restaurants we're super excited about.
Mystic Fish Camp channels the nostalgia of summer camp along the Connecticut shore.
Inspired by old-school “fish camps” that dot the coast of New England (no-frills kitchens where fishermen cook their haul straight off the dock), this new joint from James Beard winner David Standridge (behind the The Shipwright’s Daughter) just dropped anchor in Mystic, Connecticut.
What to Know:
It’s all about wild, locally caught seafood. No lobster rolls here, unless you're into monkfish. Expect a tiny dine-in setup and a strong takeout game. Pro tip: grab your order and head to the park for front-row seats of Mystic’s iconic drawbridge.
