Turns out, 2026 travel plans are getting lit.
Expedia’s latest Unpack ’26 report shows that 91% of travelers are seeking book-centric getaways, and Pinterest searches for “book club retreat ideas” have spiked more than 250%. Meanwhile, Vrbo says reading-related terms in guest reviews have nearly tripled.
As #BookTok continues to turn readers into road-trippers, brands are taking notice. An explosion of new companies like All Booked, Bookish Retreats, Ladies Who Lit and Forest & Fawn blend curated activities and books (think checking in to a Victorian castle resort in Upstate New York while you and your besties talk all things Outlander) with nature, local culture, and community. EF Ultimate Break, the group travel company for Gen Z and young millennials, just launched a BookTok-inspired travel collection that takes viral reads from page to passport. Author inspo, destination storytelling and a sense of adventure are what make these IRL book club escapes the real deal.
